I see you have a reserve price of £200.00 when one can buy a new machine for
just under £300.00 - looks overpriced to me.

You can actually buy a new 1290S in the UK for \ufffd233 if you look under 
Dealtime. Many dealers selling them for \ufffd240-250.

I know that my man and I already have a 1290S so do not require another.
However I believe that a second hand price should never rise above half the
original list price and therefore felt an overwhelming need to challenge the
offending squire's offer.

I'm not 'your man', but the intention of my post was to support your comment 
by pointing out that with a new 1290 only costing \ufffd233 (rather than the \ufffd300 
I think you suggested), a secondhand 1290 is definitely not worth \ufffd200. He'd 
probably be lucky to get \ufffd100 for it, unless he finds a mug (there are 
plenty about).

So why not sell the ink separately - like on the Piezo list
