Access violation when blending in OPM

Access violation when blending in OPM

2005-03-28 by helen_bach2003

Hi,

Has anyone got any suggestions for fixing an access violation problem
when blending profiles in OPM, using Win XP Pro and an Epson 2200?

Whether blending by slider or by alpha channel, the message "Access
violation at address 004C295D in module 'OPM.exe'. Read of address
3F6A1FBD" appears.

Uninstalling Quicktime, the USN Lib and IJC/OPM, then re-installing
in that order does not fix the problem.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Best,
Helen

Helen,

I'd ask Bowhaus for help when getting this type of error. Contact Joe
Berndt at spike@....

Some things you might try in the meantime....

1. Make sure you have the latest windows version of the program, which
is v1.0.34.

2. Refresh the printer list and profile list to be sure they are
active.

3. If you just finished building or editing profiles in IJC, try
shutting down IJC and restarting OPM.

4. Make sure the two profiles you are selecting are both for a 2200.

Regards, Lou

Lou,

Thanks very much for your suggestions. We've already been in touch
with Joe, and he's trying to replicate the problem. I just wondered
if anyone else has had the same problem because it looks like it
isn't a bug in OPM.

Best,
Helen

Hi Helen,

I have the same hardware and software, and had a similar issue of an
access violation. Do you see a preview of the image in the image
pane? When I imported a particular image into opm it didn't show up
in the preview pane, and whenever I touched any of the controls
(centering for example) I would get the access violation.

Turns out QuickTime had a problem with the file name. I renamed the
file to a shorter name and then all worked fine.

Best,
Eric.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the reply. We can see the image previewed, and, if there
is an alpha mask present, we can see the mask. Everything works
correctly until just after the printer springs into action.
Everything works perfectly if we don't use blending. I'll try
shortening all the filenames, including the profile names. We've
tried everything else we can think of, except moving everything to a
different computer - which is next on the list.

Best,
Helen

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
