R200 BO prints

R200 BO prints

2005-12-16 by jim0266

Should I expect to get the same quality of prints off an R200 as I was
getting off my 1280 when Black Only printing with MIS Eboni ink?

Since the R200's are dirt cheap as refurbs off Epson and MIS has
spongless carts for them, it seems like a low-risk investment.

Thanks for any insights.

I have just started using the R200 w/ Eboni BO, and the results are as
good as BO on my 1270, and almost indistinguishable from a UT-FSN
inkset on my 1270 (both in tonal range and under a loupe) - all printed
on EEM.

I find the following settings work for me (which are different to
Clayton Jones' - maybe printer manufacturing tolerances).

1	In Photoshop "No Color Management"
2	MP-H
3	Best Photo
4	High Speed on (slightly less bleeding than High Speed off)
5	Ink – Black
6	Color Control Gamma 1.5 (a better profile than 1.8)
7	Brightness/Contrast = 0

hope this helps

MIS inks Vs Epson DuraBrite Ultra

2005-12-16 by Burney Poh, Professys asia Sdn Bhd

Hi friends,

I am using Epson C67 with DuraBrite Ultra inks. They work well on
uncoated media and card stock off the shelf. Will MISPRO inks perform
similarly or will bleed/smudge on uncoated media. Appreciate a fair
opinion from expert here to help to decide whether to go for MISPRO.

Many thanks!!

Burney
