Setting Resolution

Setting Resolution

2006-02-07 by Gib Robinson

Is there a dpi setting for the K3 printers (2400 or 4800 especially) that
seems to give the best output -- 300 dpi or thereabouts? And if that number
varies, is there a rule of thumb for where to start with a particular image?

Thanks,

Your question has confused me - but that's not difficult. Printing dpi
needs to be 1440 or 2880 - at the higher end of the scale - so my
confusion is why you are wondering about such a small dpi (ink dots per
inch). Unless you are referring to ppi (pixels per inch), in which case
I refer you to post 67841 and thread that follows - and the conclusion
is that anything but not 300ppi.

Native resolution of the 2400 is 720 PPI. The 4800 will ask
for 720 PPI with the fine detail setting and 360 PPI at the
lower settings.

Either you feed that or you get Qimage which will perform the
best extrapolation to the required native resolutions
automagically.
