Just curious, when he did this for you? I sent Dry Creek money to pay for a
profile seven or eight months ago and after they cashed my check I heard
nothing more from them. No profile, no voice mail accessability, no response
to pages, no response to emails, no response to letters. I thought they were
a criminal scam and if the money had been enough to be worth the trouble I
would have tried to have criminal charges brought against them. I've since
read of others having the same experience so how or when did you get lucky
enough to have them actually do the work you paid for?

Just to add a note to Paul's point, I had my 4800 color profile made
for me by Ethan Hanson at Dry Creek. In addition to the beautiful color
profile he created (including a nice gamut chart of your paper/printer)
for Ilford Sm Pearl, he gave me a group of B&W profiles to try drawn
from the same data set. These profiles covered Neutral, Platinum,
Selenium, Cool tone, Sepia and Brown tone. All I can say is WOW! Dead
on WYSIWYG and the various tones are STUNNING! The Platinum tone is
especially delicate and beautiful. I know some will always want to
fiddle with in between values in ABW, but for me this is printing
Nirvana.

Brian

I also sent money to Ethan and he sent me the profiles in a week. And he
also replied to all my emails.

I hope this is a misunderstanding and that in the end you get your profiles
or your money back.

Re: [Digital BW]Dry Creek Photo (was: what type of calibration system)

2006-03-06 by Brian Ellis

Thanks. In view of your message and one from someone else who had no
problems with this outfit I've sent yet another email to them this morning
after having given up quite a while ago. We'll see if it generates a
response. In going on the web site I saw the same old statement I used to
see back in July and August to the effect that they're on summer hours.
Since summer ended seven months ago it does make one wonder just how active
the company is but we'll see what happens.

Brian:
Sorry to hear of your bad experience. My profiles were made in about a
week. I sent the charts via FedEx and paid via PayPal. I called Ethan
with questions about the profile gamut chart he sent, left a message,
and he returned my call next day and I had an extensive conversation
with him. He was quite generous with his time. This was about six weeks
ago. I have used his service three times in the past two years with
similar results. I've made profiles with my Eye-One but his always seem
to perform better in print and look smoother in ColorThink. I hope you
can get things straightened out with him.

Maybe they are getting it ready for the comming summer? I assume by now
that you obtained profiles elsewhere, so did you simply ask for the
money back?
