Average life of an Epson Printer

Average life of an Epson Printer

Does anyone know how many prints one probably can get from say the R220 or R1800 before the printer needs realignment or other adjustments?

No such animals. These things are so "mass produced", it's amazing the quality they
deliver out of the box.

I had a 4-color Stylus color 900 that lasted for 6 years and thousands of prints. The one
just before that lasted one and a half years, again, many thousands of prints.

I have 3-Epson 9000's, that I overhaul myself, putting in new print heads on average every
year to 1.5 years. These beast are made like a tank, and probably will print forever, with
proper care! Pigmented inks seem to wear the print heads faster than the dye inks.

I had an Epson 2000P that arrived from Adorama dead. Epson replaced it with
a factory refurb even though they were replacing a brand new unit that had
never been turned on. The factory refurb's print head started painting each
print with magenta lines after about 30 8x10 prints. Now I refuse to pay for
anything expensive from Epson. Their customer support was horrendous, and I
paid for a new printer only to receive a used printer on its last leg.

I guess my point is "your mileage may vary".
