Smooth white matte paper wanted

Smooth white matte paper wanted

2007-01-24 by frankg_photo

I'm looking for a recommendation for a high quality smooth white matte
paper (in sheets not rolls). It must be white and not a warm or natural
white. It should be smooth and not have a texture. And be matte without
any sheen. I'd also like it to have a good archival rating (although I
accept that to be bright white it will contain some optical
brightners).

I use Premier Matte (dual sided) 210gsm on my 2200 with Ultrachrome
inkset as an inexpensive paper for testing and get good results with
that. Their Fine Art paper 270gsm is too warm (similar to Epson
UltraSmooth fine art).

thanks,
Frank

Condor BW has become my standard final print paper. It's got that
right look for my style of work and the price is right. Plus the Hawk
Mtn customer service is First Class. They are just pleasant people to
deal with.

Proof Line offers a great matte paper in several weights from 24lb to
62lb and a double-sided version that I use for proofing. It's bright
white, gives excellent results and is inexpensive. For final prints,
I would recommend the Proof Line Digital Art 280 or the Innova 280.
Let me know if you have any questions.
