Roy, I just looked to GUI, it is much closer to my understanding of what "ink mixer" should be. What if I will have curves for 3 separate inks, or inks subsets, not neutral grays, all curves linearized, and then mix them using new GTRgui. Will this print be something like the screen image I would get from guadtone dialog in Photoshop? I understand that your GUI is simpler than direct manupulation of ink curves in Photoshop duotone dialog, but do you envision this use of QTR 2.5? Hi Sergei, I'm not positive exactly what you mean. Certainly you can put whatever you want in the 3 curves and blend them. But the real strength of the blending is that the 3 curves normally are all viable curves on their own i.e. all go from dMin to dMax. They don't have to be neutral gray of course but in order to get the benefiit of consistent luminosity you should be starting with consistent curves. The Photoshop quadtones are totally independent mixing of inks. The QTR blending forces a total of 100% at all parts of the curve thus keeping the consistent luminosity. Roy, I installed this version to Vista OS RTM and it doesn't work properly. I tried version 2.5.0.3 with Epson r200 and 2200 in calibration mode. On both printers paper feed works a bit strange, it jerks the paper back and forth. When paper is finally set in place, printer thinks a moment then push it away. Nothing is printed on paper. When I close the window, I am getting Access Violation error (read on address 0000). Did you try it on Vista? After a bit more directed testing I found that printing problem described below exists for calibration mode only and probably is not caused by Vista. I was able to print image in regular mode. GUI does produce AV when program is getting closed, and this is only under Vista. I did not try previous version of QTR. What could I do to help fixing this? Glad to see you've worked on Vista a bit. I don't have a Vista machine now and wondering if I really need to buy a new PC to run it. I would think if it connects at all to the printer -- and it sounds like it does -- that the basic printing would be fine. Vista is more likely to cause difficulties in the GUI. Any experiences you have would be worth noting. Roy --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Sergei Antonov" <antonovsergei@...> wrote:
