QTR Print ppi

QTR Print ppi

2008-05-12 by Richard Smallfield

Hi,
I've always printed at 300ppi - occasionally at as little as 250ppi - but for memory, in QTR, I've always printed at 300ppi; I wondered if people find that QTR (as opposed to the Epson driver) handles lower ppi printing as well as the Epson driver - is there any perceived difference?

thanks,
Richard

Conventional wisdom is to resize the image prior to printing to a
resolution that is a simple fraction of the printer resolution. So for
the Epsons that would be 360ppi. The theory is that photoshop could do
a better job than the printer driver, that may cause resampling
artifacts. So if you follow that path it would not make any difference
whether you use the epsond driver or QTR. But I admit I've never seen
such a thing (perhaps not looked closely enough...) and I have stopped
bothering about it.
