Paint Shop Pro X2?

Paint Shop Pro X2?

2008-11-12 by Michael

While most folks posting here likely use Photoshop, I'm curious to know
if some use PSP X2? I'm downloading the demo but would like to hear
from those with real experience at exploring just what it can do. For
photo-only work, how does it compare to PS? I see it has some level of
RAW support, curves, layers, and so on, but are these adequately
developed for serious work? Any users out there?

You should check Picture Window Pro as well. The ICC color
management got an overhaul as I understand it and the other
features like complete16 bit control are worth it.

OK let's throw Picture Window into the mix as well. Anybody use these with any regularity? Any advocates for either one?

I use Picture Window. It doesn't have layers but that doesn't bother me. One
thing that I dodn't like is that it will not let you use profiles for a
black and white image (gray scale). You need to convert it to a color image
in order to use profiles.
I have seen a lot of messages about layout and the suggestion is always to
use Qimage. Picrure Window has a very good layout procedure. It handles
multiple images with fine control as to where these images fit on a page.
If you have a lot of money then get Photoshop. For me, Picture Window is all
I need.
