Re: [Digital BW] AIPAD Show (Last Day)

Mark, thanks for the report on AIPAD; I couldn't make it this year, but hope to go next year. I'd love to hear any more thoughts you have on the show. After receiving your print from the print exchange, and also your images from Cuba on the website, I seriously doubt that your work is not in the league with what's shown at AIPAD. Now to get it shown by some of the dealers who exhibit there! Bill Morse PhotoProspect Cambridge, MA 02139 on 2/17/02 12:20 AM, marktuckerdotcom wrote: Just a reminder for anyone in the NYC area. Tomorrow is the last day for the AIPAD show at the Hilton, on 6th Ave, between 53/54th. $20 for day ticket, for EIGHTY FIVE GALLERIES! Talk about one stop shopping -- this is the ultimate demonstration of that. Galleries from all over the world -- France, Australia, Canada, Germany, and of course, all the heavyweights from the U.S. It was honestly quite overwhelming after a few hours -- I had to go up to 55th and eat a bunch of french fries and mellow out. But breathtaking work of all kinds, but mostly concentrating on vintage it appeared. Tons of bromoil, gum bichromate, and GSP, but then some color Cprints and Cibas scattered in there as well. I saw MAYBE one inkjet in the whole two stories, sadly to say though. These people are too highbrow I would assume, to treat inket seriously, at least from a sales/investor standpoint. (And, after seeing the show, I can't say as I blame them -- with so much mis/dis=information floating about, and Wilhelm nowhere to be found, and with metamerism in the equation with the pigments, the choices are few. I guess you quad guys and Piezo guys would argue with that, but the evidence was on the wall today -- or should I say, NOT on the wall). Anyway, if you wanna get your socks blown off, check out this show. It'll either inspire you, or you'll start selling insurance, because the bar is quite high. It's a quick Masters Class in fine art photography in 2002. Mark Tucker, http://marktucker.com/ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
