Digital BW, The Print

Mark, thanks for the report on AIPAD; I couldn't make it this year, but hope
to go next year.  I'd love to hear any more thoughts you have on the show.

After receiving your print from the print exchange, and also your images
from Cuba on the website, I seriously doubt that your work is not in the
league with what's shown at AIPAD.
Now to get it shown by some of the dealers who exhibit there!

in the equation with the pigments, the choices are few. I guess you
quad guys and Piezo guys would argue with that, but the evidence was
on the wall today -- or should I say, NOT on the wall).

Anyway, if you wanna get your socks blown off, check out this show.
It'll either inspire you, or you'll start selling insurance, because
the bar is quite high. It's a quick Masters Class in fine art
photography in 2002.

Thanks for the report; it made me rush to the Hilton so that I'd have at 
least 2 and a half hours to see the show.  I was impressed by much of the 
imagery, and I actually found the words "Epson inkjet" on the wall of one of 
the galleries!  At the same gallery were a few "Iris prints" with the 
reference to the printer, David Adamson.  Funny, I didn't see any other 
printers credited(I guess all the photographers did their own printing!)  I 
saw about 5 Iris prints(no giclee titles) in my short time there, but no 
carbon pigments, though I expect them by next year.

Toned Silver Gelatin ruled the walls, and Fuji Crystal Archive seems to have 
a very strong showing for those printing color.  Howard Schatz's Cibachromes 
of underwater dancers(guess the word Ilfochrome doesn't sound expensive 
enough) were beautiful.

There is a similar show(Armory show) at a Pier exhibition space at the end of 
this month.  Here's a link to the info.

work is photography, but I'd bet that a lot of it includes inkjet repros of 
watercolor and paintings.
