New poll for Doepfer_a100

2006-09-13 by Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com

Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
Doepfer_a100 group:

which tuning controls would you prefer for the forthcoming
a111/2 dynamic vco?

o coarse freq pot with extended range + fine freq pot (like on the preliminary frontpanel)
o coarse freq pot with standard range + fine freq pot + rotary octave switch (like a111)
o coarse freq pot with extended range + fine freq pot + rotary octave switch
o coarse freq pot with three-position switch to select the knob range + fine freq pot + rotary octave switch
o coarse freq pot with jumper on the pcb to select the knob range + fine freq pot + rotary octave switch
o coarse freq pot with extended range + fine freq pot + a set of buttons to select the octaves (probably more expensive)
o coarse freq pot with extended range + fine freq multiturn pot + rotary octave switch (probably more expensive)
o only one bigger multiturn pot with extended range (probably more expensive)
  o i'm fine with any of the cheaper solutions (1 - 5)
o i'm fine with any of these solutions

thanks for clearing out on the price differences, dieter.

i have edited the poll text to reflect that,
but i didn't know that this would delete the
already given votes.

i'm sorry about that, but there were only three votes
given anyway, so i hope that it was not a too bad mistake.

those three voters, please accept my apologies and vote again.

many thanks

best wishes

ingo

AW: [Doepfer_a100] New poll for Doepfer_a100

2006-09-13 by hardware@doepfer.de

Thank's for the poll.

I hove some comments concerning the prices of the different options:

The rotary switches used in the A-110 and A-111 are very expensive parts.
Consequently:

1. Three toggle switches for octave selection (1, 2, 4 octaves) would be
about the same as the rotary switch
2. Even the multiturn potentiometer will be in the same price range as the
rotary switch

Option 1 would be the cheapest solution as neither a rotary switch nor a
multiturn potentiometer is used.
All other option are approximately in the same price range.
By far the most expensive solution is those with rotary switch and multiturn
potentiometer.

I'm very interested in the winner. I'd recommend version .... - no, I don't
want to influence your votes.

Best wishes
