help with A-110 VCO tune mod

2017-04-18 by omega_images2000@yahoo.it

Hi! i wonder if you could kindly help me with this:
i need to make the tune mod to one of my two A-110VCOs, so i can tune them on intervals. as i don't have any electronic experience, a friend offered to do it for me, but since he knows nothing about synths he asked me for accurate instructions of exactly what to do. i searched for all possible info, and, while it's clear that the R5 resistor has to be replaced, there are many different suggestions about the value of the replacement resistor. Perhaps this may have to do with the different versions of A-110, so i should note that, mine are both the early version with only +/-1semitone range. I would very much appreciate if you could give me the right instructions of what value of resistor to install.
Thank you very much.

Hello,

the value of R5 defines the range of the tune control. You find details in
the service manual for the A-110-1 on our website:

www.doepfer.com > English > PRODUCTS > A-100 > Module Overview > A-110-1 >
service manual

It's also possible to replace R5 by a combination of a fixed resistor and a
trimming potentiometer. That way it's possible to adjust the desired tune
range.

Best wishes

Because of the Superbooth exhibition in Berlin I'm not in the company from
April 19-23, 2017.

Simply connecting an A-176 to the A-110's CV2 input should also do the job, I believe. No soldering required. :)

All the best,
Zoë.

Many thanks for this – very useful to know for those of us who shouldn’t be let near a soldering iron!

Best wishes.
