I used that link in 08 and the conversion was easy. While stumbling around looking for cartridges I came across a site that had a flash drive you could add. It was from the Ukraine. Warning to all DON'T go to this site you will be spammed and telemarketed to death. They don't have to follow the FCC no call list. Mark

Just a friendly suggestion here but those ESQ/SQ80 carts are useful and hard to come by as they are. Why destroy one rare part to make another one? The VFX SD and SD-1 have floppy drives which is a much cheaper storage option already. Doug --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, <tomlinson6050@...> wrote:

Hi Doug, I think that's interesting because, I see ESQ carts all the time, and I think I have about 8 of them; however, I don't have a single one for my VFX-SD. When they do show up, they're wickedly expensive. As an aside, the last time I tried to purchase VFX carts of the fleabay, I got into a serious conflict with the seller that went on for months (they eventually found in my favor). Carts are much easier to use, in terms of workflow. If you leave a cartridge in all the time, its like a memory expansion; rather than, having to overwrite frequently to load up floppies. I would very gladly trade anyone here one my ESQ carts for a VFX RAM cart. Take care! -Patrick --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, "synthparts" <synthparts@...> wrote:

So the question beckons...is anyone here interested in Richards on board/internal 9 bank switchable memory board? This sits inside your VFXSD/SD1 and connects directly to your cart cable, you still have access and use of the top cart slot giving you the storage of 10 carts via a small rotary switch on the back of the synth. Stacy, Any more info on this? Like, how difficult is the installation process, how much does it cost, and so on. I didn't see any info at your website (but I do miss stuff sometimes). --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@...m, Rish <rish@...> wrote:

Richard has only made one so far and it works great! Install is simple but adding the selector switch is the more challenging part. He said that he didn't make these available cause only like 4 people ever expressed any interest. P.S: Richard is back on his feet and getting around pretty good now! Problem is that the injection mold tooling for the larger carts case would cost more than the whole thing. Sent from my iPod

I can't believe only 4 people are interested but after my last post it became evident that most of us have more than one VFX or SD's. I'll take 6. By the way Rich keep full intensity with the rehab, broke my neck surfing (real surfing not the web) in 02 and I do my stuff every day and still can surf:)!!! Mark

it's not that I don't have ANY interest, it's just that.... well... I guess I don't. I do all my VFX work through midi, nowadays. Just don't have the need to load up a cartridge. Even my disc drive works perfectly, but I'm saving that for the next guy that wants a perfectly working disc drive in his. I have plenty of interest in *watching* how this all turns out, though. L.
