Hi James, First, my apologies for misspelling your last name! I feel I got what the system was currently worth, no more, no less (and am definitely happy). The pitiful strength of the US dollar could have squeezed a little more out of an international sale, but I'm just a private individual with little time to arrange shipping, thus the US only. Those of us who keep an eye on prices might remember the last IIx that was even for sale - it was discussed it a bit here on the list - a non-functioning system, and it sold for about $3000 USD!!! The last complete and functioning system on eBay was sold by dealer/restorer "Synhouse" (a very nice and knowledgeable gentleman, BTW) for $5699 USD, if I recall, and that included shipping. That particular system had no flight cases, a minimal library (he sold a large library seperately, which went for over $400 USD, IIRC) and the manuals were not original - they were PDFs on a CD. Everyone wants a bargain, but the unfortunate truth is that bargains are few and far between, and they will ALWAYS have problems! 100% functional, 100% complete systems with extensive libraries are like the proverbial hen's teeth. I expended a great deal of time, money and effort getting my system in the state it is today; my hat is off to any Fairlight owner who has done similar because ownership does require a degree of dedication. I'm getting concerned the manuals haven't arrived yet - they must be on a very slow boat! As a precaution, I will make another set of copies before I ship the originals this week.
