Hi Daniel,

So far the manual copies have not arrived. I would really appreciate it if
you could make some safety copies just in case.
A couple of thoughts on things to do with Fairlight. A lot of people
expect to get Fairlight CMI 2X and CMI 3 stuff really cheap these days. I
think they are really missing the point here. The Fairlight CMI instruments
are very special and unique and many CMI's simply do not come up for sale
often. Many owners are holding on to their systems as there is still nothing
new that has the character and warmth that these instruments offer. Many
people say that the CMI 3 is just a 16 bit sampler so you might as well own
something more modern. How wrong they are,as the CMI 3 has a character all
of it own. The depth and warmth to the sound is incredible compared to
anything old ( Roland/Akai ) or new ( EXS 24,Giga sampler etc )
I own both the CMI 3 and CMI 2X instruments and they are completely
different but I wouldn't want to give either up. When I have the time I want
to investigate making the CMI 3 quieter with a modern fan solution and
acoustic foam panels.
 I predict that Fairlight CMI prices on CMI 2X and CMI 3 ( rev 9.34 / 11.39
with router ) are going to increase in value due to the uniqueness and
rarity of these systems.
I would like to try and organize a Fairlight CMI meeting sometime in France
this year. There are many users in Europe, so I think this would make sense.
