Hi James,
I've read that it's not adviserable to extend a SCSI cable longer than 18 feet. If you need a longer distance, you should have a SCSI repeater box in between. Granitedigital have repeaters for 50 pin SCSI:
James, Will you be so kind to tell me where you've bought your 8" floppy drive, what brand & model number and if the CMI2x and CMI III use the same 8" drive?
I might have to buy one.
