Fairlight-CMI

Hi,

I have bought quite a few brand new 8" floppy disks recently which will not
format. There is nothing wrong with my drives its simply that the floppy
disks themselves are flawed. This is very worrying for all CMI 2X users as
even with new disks we are not guaranteed that they will work !
 There are some very knowledgeable technicians here and I urge them to
please come up with an alternative solution for sound storage soon. This
needs to be made a priority for the future of the CMI 2X. Eventually all
floppies will fail and we desperately need a modern storage method for the
CMI 2X. It is a very creative instrument which deserves to be kept going.
 I am willing to put up some finance if a solution looks promising. Many
