Hi David, 

In general you should be able to replace a 2716 with a 27C16. It does depend 
somewhat on the circuits and bus configuration as the logic thresholds, 
access time and fanout might be a little different in the CMOS EPROM. It is 
likely the CMOS part will draw less current that the NMOS part does.
