whats the difference in using Audio Hijack with start and stop, and
hitting stop and record in Logic? I don't see any advantage to AH.

Not sure what you've tried, but if it didn't include an actions
recorder or automation program like QuicKeys
(http://www.startly.com/products/quickeys/mac/4/), AppleScript or
maybe even Automator in conjunction with something like an audio
recorder like Audio Hijack or Wiretap, perhaps with an AU look-ahead
limiter in front, I suggest to explore that route. Audio Hijack allows
audio plugins and is Applescriptable, and you'll probably find it
easier (and cheaper) to find and hire an Applescripter, if that's what
you need, than a full-on app developer. Good luck; I'd be interested
to hear what finally works!
