Re: V6 Engine

2002-07-31 by a5h_pm

Hi Mark/Don,

I can confirm that the engine does have the cast type headers, but I
as I am not close to the engine now I can not confirm (or deny!) what
is being said to me about them! I can however say that from my now
some what confused memory looking from above with the front of the
engine furthest away from me, the left header exits between cylinders
5 and 6, and the right hand header exits between 1 and 2, so turning
the manifold through 180degrees would acheive the same on either
side?...... OK I've just drawn myself a diagram and I could be so
wrong that I am gong to shut up until I can verify whay I am saying!
Can you confirm that looking from above the engine the exhaust
headers both exit an imaginary line exactly perpendicular to the
chassis though? (ie for example not just at the centre of Cylinders 2
& 5 which are off set)

Thanks for you help guys! (and for putting doubt even in my own mind
now!!)

My next problem to overcome is the engine mountings - I am speaking
to Rory at Marcos Heritage today so hopefully this will soon also be
cleared up!

Cheers
