Ok, thanks.
I do use my 1800 for color and black and white and probably just as well because my skill level at this, being I am new to it, doesn't include changing profiles around. So, what you are saying is that you have three matte inks in three slots, and three other black inks in three others slots which allow you to print on glossy papers if you decide to...??. In order to print on luster papers, which I like better than matte papers, do I need such a set up also or wlil the 3MK print on lustre.?
thanks for the help carl

Frank,
If you are not doing color work with your 1800 you are free to put
inks in any slots you want to use. If you want to use Paul's
profiles as is then yes you must use the MK, PK, and GL positions for
Eboni. My setup consists of Eboni MK in the MK, PK, and Y ink
positions with MIS RCNTL_PK in the C, R, and B slots and Glop in the
GL position. This lets me do either matte or RC papers with or
without glop for the latter. All of the profiles I have put in the
archive are for this ink configuration. If you want to use different
ink positions just edit the profiles to change the ink assignments.
The MIS RCNTL-PK is a neutral photo black ink. They also have a warm
and cool PK.
