Seems like business is doing just fine without the catalog. My scan/pdf of the 1982 catalog covers 80-90% of the current modules, though not all of the enhancements such as the 2 inch SSG, added DSG outputs, etc. The Rich Gold book is at the SMMS Historical Materials site and giv

I looked at this on an oscilloscope to confirm, and to answer another question I had about the combination of the IN and TRIG IN jacks. The DSG will process bipolar signals at the IN jack. These are seen as bipolar signals on the normal OUTPUT jack. If you use the TRIG IN, it out

2003-12-19 by John P
A little birdie with initials "R.P." mentioned that the bipolar DSG output isn't perverted - it's inverted! So by using it and the regular blue-jack outputs together are good for complementary effects. Also, he said bipolar is handy for panning the UAP, and being a vibrato source

A bipolar output is useful if you are using it to control a vibrato like function on a VCO. Rather than just going up in pitch (or just down depending upon how you process the input), the vibrato will vary around a center frequency.

I've heard that some people have bipolar outputs on their DUSG. Why would they need that? If you have a DUSG process a bipolar signal, doesn't it come out bipolar? Is it simply for level shifting a unipolar input? Romeo

All of the VCA modules are very susceptible to stray noise. On some units, shielded wire was used for many of the inputs and outputs. You might try just opening the panel and moving wires aside to see if you can reduce the coupling between one input and the sensitive high-gain ci

not being an electrical engineer i can't help you much on this one except that this has been a subject of much discussion on the list in the past. The VCAs on the UAP don't attenuate to 0db if memory serves. I have also had this experience with the UAP in my system...which is one
