I looked at this on an oscilloscope to confirm, and to answer another question I had about the combination of the IN and TRIG IN jacks. The DSG will process bipolar signals at the IN jack. These are seen as bipolar signals on the normal OUTPUT jack. If you use the TRIG IN, it out

A bipolar output is useful if you are using it to control a vibrato like function on a VCO. Rather than just going up in pitch (or just down depending upon how you process the input), the vibrato will vary around a center frequency.
