You could Chicken Systems Translator Pro.
Six months of trying to do without the tool you need
is too much.
I tried all the free stuff and wasted my time.
I know others may have had different experiences, but
that was mine.

PC won't recognize Akai disks, and vice versa. Two different formats.
In my experience, the Chicken Systems Stuff will only take you half
way, you'll need software like SoundForge to really get in and do the
editing of individual samples. I use the SCSI transfer method to send
samples, it can be tedious but never lets me down.

On an old Mac with Alchemy editing software you can
transfer via midi or scsi, edit , and create new keygroups
with full control of where the samples get assigned. I
really wish there was a modern day equivalent but for
old-school sampler management it's the bomb.

I'll usually create my keygroups and programs with Alchemy,
then have the Akai save the completed programs on a zip.
Once on Zip you can make a disk image of it a burn it to an
Akai formated CD which you can then import into a
softsampler or have Translator or CDxtract convert to any
format.
