Hi guys. I am looking into the history of important samplers at the moment, and I just can't seem to find ANY info on the invention of the S1000. Do ANY of you know ANY names involved in the making of the S1000 ? Any info would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks; Kenneth 12bit.com

Hi Kenneth, The Keyfax Omnibus Edition of Julian Colbeck mentions that the S1000 has been designed by David Cockerell, H. Takemura and Chris Huggett. The first two of these people were also chief designer of the S900 and the S950. Cockerell was also the designer of the S612; in fact he was the "lead architect" of the early Akai S line. Additional info on the S1000, as mentioned in the same book: - number of units sold: 22,000 - production run: 1988->1993 I hope this helps ? ///E-Synthesist --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, "Kenneth Abildgaard" <kenneth@...> wrote: > > Hi guys. > > I am looking into the history of important samplers at the moment, and > I just can't seem to find ANY info on the invention of the S1000. Yes, you should have this book. It contains this kind of information on about 100 vintage synths and samplers. Also interesting in this specific book of Colbeck is that he gives some background information about each of the major synth/sampler companies. A must-have indeed ! ///E-Synthesist --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, "Kenneth Abildgaard | OIIO" <kenneth@...> wrote: > > It absolutely does thank you very much. > > I don't have this book but it is now on my `wanted list' J > > > > Thanks again; > > > > Kenneth > > 12bit.com > > > > Fra: akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com > [mailto:akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com] På vegne af esynthesist > Sendt: 20. september 2008 21:35 > Til: akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com > Emne: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] Re: Who invented the S1000 ? > > > > Hi Kenneth, > > The Keyfax Omnibus Edition of Julian Colbeck mentions that the S1000 > has been designed by David Cockerell, H.
