Re: Introduction

Right, I figured you weren't using the mackie emulation.

I was suggesting a hybrid.

Use the clipfires that ARE part of the mackie emu, I helped assemble,
because you said you wanted something like that.
And that is it, make the rest of your preset the static map.

Just make sure that the cc's you assign for your static map don't send values the mackie control surface python script in Live will translate.

I am just suggesting you use the parts of the mcu that you want and need and don't have another way to do.

Cheers.

Their reasoning was that for a live mixing environment I would not really need to have tactile control of that many parameters. Once it would be set up in rehearsals, I would basically mostly need tactile control of track volumes, cue function, and maybe a couple of other things. The chance of moving the wrong control in the heat of a live theater mix would be less.

I think I understand in the way you are describing that I would have to choose each track by pushing a button before I could adjust any parameters on that track.

You can "see" where you are and it is accurate to switch between tracks. Then all the pots would be assigned to (common) functions/controls...Each (pot) would have its MIDI channel, corresponding to track, (button)...So you can assign top 8 pots to 8 functions =  16 x 8 = 128 assignments per row!....(16 x Volume, ch.1-16, pot #1 for
