what I would do is the 'Panic reset' Hold 'EDIT' press 'EXIT'
PAnC appears in the display and you should be able to work from there.

It really sounds like you either have faulty hardware or, more likely
corrupted firmware in the flash.

Load the the latest firmware with MidiOx on the MIDI ports - set to
S-1 (don't bother with the USB).

If it is still faulty I suggest that you either get it serviced, but
this may be as expensive a good second hand unit, or open it up and
press the Flash chip back into it's socket. 

If this doesn't work see if you can get a new CPU board from Behringer
and replace it yourself.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
