Windows 8.1 hibernation not saving calibration

Windows 8.1 hibernation not saving calibration

2014-04-06 by <john@...>

Can someone point me in the right direction as support has not been able to help. I am using Windows 8.1 64bit with Spyder4Pro 4.5.4 on a laptop. I use hibernation and the calibration used to be saved and reloaded when my old W7claptop was restarted. Now with 8.1 calibration loads a long time after the system restarts, documents left open etc are OK just calibration not being saved.

Support just said nothing to do with them a Windows 8.1 issue, but I have been totally unable to find anything on this anywhere. If someone knows if there is anything I can do I would be great full.

There is a bug in Win 8.1 which causes this. You could either go back to Win 8 or disable going to sleep and set screen saver to never.

There is another update called Win 8.1 update coming out soon which should fix this.

Regrettably after the update calibration is still not saving and loading on restart with hibernation.

Hi

Yes calibration reloads after a time rather than being remaining loaded as in W7

The Utility should be reloading this within one minute. Thats all we can do from the Datacolor side, and should be sufficient to assure that the display is correct for color managed work. It may be annoying that its off initially on waking, but then, you can’t really trust the color of a display until it has warmed up anyways, so while it is inconvenient that Win8 isn’t doing this correctly, its not a major color management failure.

Thanks for reply, sorry for delay as we are in far north of Scotland at present.
yes it loads after a delay so yes its working Its a pain as I use hibernation all the time. I and others with 8.1 are in the good old position oi I expext of every one sayings its some one eases fault something isn't working correctly.
When most products find changes are made to the more maker product they run inside or depend on they introduce changes to deal with the changes. Yes clearly MS made changes but the claim the current version of Spyder4Pro has no problems isn't fully true as its not working as intended but as you say give it time and its working.
