Pianodisc on Yamaha Disklavier?

2005-09-14 by jheitzeb1

I currently own a 6 foot concert grand piano with pianodisc system
installed. I have a
large library of pianodiscs. I am trading my current piano in for a
Mark IV 7 foot disklavier
grand piano. (The new piano is on the way, but not here yet!)

I took one of my pianodiscs in to try in a baby grand piano at the
store which had the
disklavier system ( I think it was the Mark III) installed and it
was not able to read the
pianodisc.

The salesman told me that Yamaha dealer has told him that these
pianodiscs will be
readable in January 2006.

I would like to use my old pianodiscs on my new piano. Do anyone
have any suggestions?

I understand that there is a software utility that will convert
pianodisc files to midi, is this
correct and if so, has anyone done so successfully.

I am also a Macintosh user and I cannot find any midi editting
software for use on my
Mac. I have been using gnmidi on an old PC to convert from type 1 to
type 0 and convert
to pianodisc format. Should I use this same procedure to make new
midi floppies for the
disklavier system?

Thanks everyone in advance for your help.
