Dear Terry,
Thanks for your email.
If you let mw know your location or in fact your postcode and the country, I may be able to ask a few shipping companies.
I believe it won't be more than 10kg parcel for all the disklavier electronics. The heavy item is the power supply and the solenoid railing which spans the length of the 88 keys. I believe I may be able to ship it for Australian $150 - 200 max. + I may need to get some wood to make a box to crate the items. I do not know what that will cost, may be A$70 or so. I am guess estimating these figures and I will try and give a couple of calls and find out once I get your location details.
With regard to whether it can be fixed to your piano or not, is something that you have to ask a piano tech. Most techs would say no I guess. I believe if you are handy with your hands you may be able to spend some time on the project. Carol B, on this site is very knowlagable. you can ask her. But most of them are service orientated and will not do one of projectsI guess.
My thinking is that, assuming that all 88 keys at the far end where the plungers hit to drive them are not the same cut as in all grand piano's, you may have to move the solenoids to be directly under the individual keys. With the Yamaha system all the solenoids are pre positioned and the housing is pre made. The solenoids that drive the 88 plungers that hit the opposite end of the keys can not be moved to be aligned. However if you can make your own railing with the housing you might be able to work with it.
If however the keys are the same length and at the same angle as the Yamaha GH1 (from which this comes) then I don\ufffdt think it is such a problem.
If you are interested, and if the item does not get sold, I can try and dismantle solenoid railing and post you an impression of the solenoid holes and the railing. Also can tell you at what distance it is fixed from the front of the piano. With this template you will be able to take your key bed out and see if all the keys at the same distance from the front align up with the current solenoid railing.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your interest.
