Disklavier MX-88

2013-04-24 by slickfix2

Hello all,

I own an older disklavier piano a MX-88 with a DKC5R control unit. Still plays well but the higher register seems like it is not playing as loud as it used too. Still love the piano, even though it is the older disklavier technology.

I would like to get a service manual for the piano, NOT a owners manual,
I already have that.

I Emailed Yamaha service, and they sent me a part # for the owners manual.(Not what I wanted).

I then called Yamaha Service, and after being on hold 20 minutes was
disconnected, never talking to anyone. (Twice).

I am hoping someone can help me, I would be willing to pay for the manual, or photocopies, or PDF file if needed.

Bill Brandom helped me once before verifying the correct year, control unit, and place of manufacture of my piano, before I Purchased it. All info checked out good.

Can you help me out again Bill? or Anyone?

Thanks to everyone,

Eric Sickinger

Hi Eric,

I can probably email you the Service manual if it is in my computer. I won't know if I have it until I get back to my hotel tonight.

And here is the maintenance handbook, which has the adjustment procedures. Your piano may just need to be recalibrated.

I would like to thank everyone in this group, especially Bill, Mike,
Mark, and Adrian.

They all sent me the exact info I was looking for... Service manual
(which also included schematics), and as a bonus, the Dealer Maintenance and Adjustment Manual.

I went through the Auto Key Trimmer Program, which has helped, I
will check other adjustments when I get a chance.

Thank you all very much, this is a great group.
