I followed the instructions to the letter. I can still play off the HD but I cannot access any other media... what now? I've tried shutting down and starting up again without success. I will call my dealer tomorrow, but he confesses to not being good on the computeer side, so any ideas would be welcome. BTW its a Mark IV

If the problem appeared as soon as you did the update, I would try running the update again. I have come across cases where there was a glitch during the procedure which corrupted some (or all) of the update.
Another case I have come across is where the D-connector on the media unit hade a bent pin and you couldn't access the Floppy Disk or CD. It may be worth checking that the pins are OK on the media centre and the I/O unit end, and ensure that the connectors are fitted and tightened up correctly.

Thanks, I'm actually busy reloading the update now - an idea I had while sleeping on the problem. I doubt if the connectors are the issue as nothing here has been touched. I can't say that it appearred "immediatley" after the update. I checked my stored recordings (as I'd been warned to back these up) and these were OK. It was the next day when I tried downloading some midi files and tried to load them through a USB stick, when that didn't work I tried the CD and FD. Will let you know if the re-install works. Regards

Great support from Yamaha service on the phone. After reloading V2 the FD and CD worked but still could not access the USB. Service suggested rebooting - which of course solved the problem - until I tried the USB Flash drive. I rebooted again and the USB was OK with my hard drive, but again did not recognise the falsh drive. When I replaced it with the USB Hard Drive it wasn't working again. Service ran through several more permutations, rebooting each time and the USB was working until I tried the falsh drive, so must be a fault in this (although it works fine on my computer). Tried 3 more flash drives. 2 worked one didn't (but it didn't lock up the port like the first. So now all is good - I must just avoid the one flash drive! Thanks to Athomik1 for his rapid response and suggestion to reload V2 --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "Cheetham" <cheetham@...> wrote: > > I followed the instructions to the letter.
