GH1 with MarkIII Disklavier Price

GH1 with MarkIII Disklavier Price

2001-01-29 by kingofebay@yahoo.com

Hello all:
I am about to buy a 5"3" GH1 with a Mark III Disklavier system for
$20,000. Is this a good price?

Why not buy a quality used grand (say an older Mason Hamlin, Knabe or
Chickering or maybe even a Steinway), the longer the better, then have a
PianoDisc 128+ installed in it. Then you'll really have something. It
will also play more labels then the Yamaha.

I considered this route, but I kinda like the look and feel of a
brand new piano. I've had used pianos before, a brand new one is
something I've always wanted. $20K is in my budget, but there
doesn't seem to be anywhere on the net to get good price info. No
one likes to overpay...

Don't even think about buying a piano, new or used, without reading Larry
Fine's "The Piano Book." It's available at
http://www.tiac.net/users/pianobk/index.shtml, as is the latest annual
supplement that gives prices for new and used pianos.

And no, I'm not the author, nor do I get a cut. Just a satisfied reader.

I think it"s very doable in your price range. I got the names and addresses
of all the dealers in my area (State of Ohio) and then started contacting
them. They tend not to want to quote out of their area, but if you know
what you want with some specifics. I was successful in getting two dealers
in a price war and ended up with a C2 Mark II (list at $33,000 +) for under
$19,000

Good Luck

There is a huge pricing database on our group site. Have you checked it out? It should be quite helpful.

I tried to check this site out and found that I needed to acquire a Yahoo ID.
I signed up for that, and then found out that I need to register with this
user group. Of course, I am already a memeber of this group.

When I joined this group, did I get a Yahoo ID which I have forgotten/

Thanks,

I just went through this myself, this morning, and I own the damn group. It obviously has to do with the egroup takeover by a bunch of Yahoos. Eventually, after some clicking, I found a screen where you give your old egroup id (email address) and old password, and then pick a new Yahoo ID (i.e. jdoe) and Password, it then makes the connection and gives you a cookie so it knows you in the future. Hope this helps.

I think you can get the price lower considering that we recently
paid $20500 (Mark III) for DC1A in late October from northern
CA dealer. At one point, we had the price down to $20K from one dealer.
But she was too rude and pushy, so we went elsewhere.

Afterwards, I checked out the Disklavier database for prices.
Some people got great bargains... I wish that I bought a DC2A for a fraction
more.

We chose to get the silent feature, speakers included, and other all the
extra features.
You can either get more features for $20K or get them to lower for GH1.

You'll love your piano. It sounds great!
