Yeah, I actually end up pushing the buttons most of the time, so the 
ability to switch would be great. The click sound when you push the 
knobs disappeared from most of my knobs a long time ago...

I agree with this to. It would make the functionality of the MD more 
like a mixer, which is ideal for live use and live recording.

Definitely. And, as you say, only needed for the clear function, or 
if pasting involves clearing another track/pattern.
