The parts on the Virus that are assigned to the same midichannels used
by the MD will behave strangely.

I think it sends out the data to be used for recording stuff in
external sequencers. That way you can program beats on th MD, record
them in your favourite sequencer package, play it back without using
the MD:s internal sequencer.

Have a look at the manual, I thin it mentions a few things when it
comes to midi and channels.
Hmm overlap. Call it midi clash instead.
MD uses channel 1-4.
Virus on 1-16.
Channels 1-4 are used by both machines..
To get around this, have the machines on separate midi chains, or just
don't use the channels on the Virus that is used by the MD.
