A sysex string could probably take care of that, but I guess wou want to mute on/off with note number ?? or ?

Well, I don\ufffdt know how,
but if you know a way myabe you can explain it.

The only way I figuered out is to record midi mutes on
my mixing desk....

MnM with external Sequencer

2004-08-02 by Flo Zombie

I am still trying to figure out how to
sequence MnM patterns with an external sequencer
just as easy as it works on the machinedrum.

I tried to set up multi maps using the manual,
I couldn\ufffdt set the base note right.
I mean if the range for 1 pattern is
C-0 to B-0
then C-0 should be the base note by default,
playing the original pitch of the pattern, right?
What is the default pitch within a multi map?

Then I tried to do it using Midi Program Change,
but this section seems to me very strange.
it seemed the patterns were changing,
but only after the old pattern has finished playing.
In the moment the MnM receives the Program change message,
it is not changing the pattern. I guess you would
have to give the program change some time ahead of the next pattern.

Is there someone who has managed to do this more easy somehow?

best greetings
Flo

Hey Flo,
This is similar to the problem I was having with getting my ESX synced
up with my MnM.
I was programming the ESX via MnM's midi tracks, and when I sent it a
pgrm change, the ESX would wait until the bar was done before it
switched. Thus the esx would change late every time because I had the
changes at the beginning of the pattern.
The only solution I could think of was to make special patterns that
would only get played once, at the end of a sequence, that had the pgrm
change at the end of the loop.. these patterns would only be played
once.. I didn't do this though because it was going to take some time to
figure out pattern wise. And I didn't have time to do so before the
LivePA I had to play..
As far as your multi-map problem goes - can't really help there - I
haven't tried to sequence it externally yet ;)

Cheers,
-Chris

Well, that seems to be the way it works.
Sending the program change message ahead of the change.

But it is a bit of a limitation because the funny thing
about changing patterns with multi trig is if you
DONT change at the end of the pattern but "cut" it.

Well, maybe I have to get more deep into multi mapping.
