Emax

Got a problem with my Emax II:

LCD was dim, so ordered a new foil for the backlight.

Display was lit up fine prior to replacment.  My synth tech resoldered 
the new foil to the LCD PCB.

I replaced the LCD PCB back in the emax and reassembled.  LCD works 
fine, EXCEPT no backlight.

What could be wrong?  Would my inverter have gone?  If so, how can I 
verify?  I don't know where it is located in the Emax II.

I did specify the synth was an Emu Emax II.  Foil ordered from Telesis.
