I have used an emax se since the 80's...along with an SP1200 and u will not be able to monitor while sampling. Its trial and error...but it sure comes out fat!!!! -----Original Message----- From: Jonathon Stevens <jonathonbstevens@...> Sent: March 21, 2008 1:49 PM To: emax@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [emax] Re: Not being able to monitor samples while sampling on the EMAX 1 Hey. I can't monitor through when sampling either but I understand this is normal behavior for slightly less than modern samplers. My Mirage and Prophet 2002 are the same way. Is this standard with the Emax in general?? I thought I bought a faulty unit, but I ended up having to monitor my source, watch the input during the sample process and check the sample after the fact. It works great, it just so happens the Emax is the only sampler I own that does not give you a monitor signal when the sampling page is armed. Far as 12 bit grit..lower sample rates will allow you to achieve a sound very similar in character to that of an SP-12/SP-1200. But from my experience going too low on the sample rate can take away the raw character of the sound. 10K in particular has mixed results. Sometimes it's raw and buttery...other times is just kinda flat and lifeless. Anyway, nuff typing, I'm sure Im' not covering anything here that hasn't been covered in the last 20 years..heh heh. --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "Hustler Avenue" <hustler.avenue@...> wrote: > > Does anyone else have this problem?
