I have never had confirmation on this drive working or not. Can someone confirm it works or doesn't? Thanks, Ted [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I can test it. It works on my e6400 and esynth. I'll try it on my Emax I and II and get back to you. -s* On 2013-03-05, at 12:19 PM, Ted Summers <djtbs1@...> wrote: I have never had confirmation on this drive working or not. It's installed but I could not test it yet, as my emax is still not operational due to the lack of a floppy OS (I got hold of a pc with an internal floppy drive to write new ones just today), It will be hopefully next week, I will report then. http://www.krikor.fr +33632199413 Booking dj & live: cedric@... was hoping this might be of interest but i tried to use a pcd-50b with my e-mu eiiix sampler and i don't think it works. no matter what jumper settings i try it hangs at startup cycling through scsi id numbers months ago i had an acard/cf drive combo that did work with it, so if i can't get the pcd to work i'll have to get another acard --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Krikor Kouchian <krikorola@...> wrote:

Yes, I replied to this last night so I am not sure why it did not post. I apologize for the delay but my wife and I recently had our second son (2 weeks early) so I have been a bit busy. I did test the pcd-60b on my Emax I and II and they both worked fine. One thing to note about the Emax I is that it must be running SE (at least this is the case in the 2 units that I upgraded.). Also, I have 3 different models of PCMCIA card adapters. 2 of them say "type II" on them. The other says nothing and it would not fit into the slot properly as one side had a slightly thicker plastic mould. I shaved off some plastic with an exacto knife and managed to get it to fit ok but, even though the SCSI seemed to be recognized, the card itself could not be accessed. Only the type II pcmcia adapters seem to work for me. If anyone knows of where to acquire PCMCIA type II sd (not compact flash) adapters, I would be interested. Congrats! and thanks for the update. I always use a 5 in 1 or 6 in 1 adapter in the PC Card slot. Dazzle works OK. Also, MCR-5A works ok. I finaly could finish the upgrade of my emax to a SE/HD. The PCD60b was recognized by the machine, but only with the PLUS OS. It is a bit weird because my jumper were set to ID0 on the card reader. i formated a few compact flash and copied the os to those, also copied the SE presets, it boots up from the CF and loads all progs perfectly. i found the reason why i could not upgrade to SE, the slim floppy i got seem to have a not so sensible write protect detection system, i had to put 2 layer of tape to get it to see it as a writable floppy. i will check for the jumper on the reader but i'm almost certain it is set to be on ID0. best K http://www.krikor.fr +33632199413 For Live&Dj bookings contact: cedric@... This kind of makes sense as I always keep a Plus OS floppy in the Emax floppy drive. Once booted, I can load whatever I want from the SD/CF card. Btw, I managed to find some relatively inexpensive multi format PCMCIA card adapters. Unfortunately the dazzle and the mcr-5a are a bit difficult to come by and of you can find them they are fairly costly now. The good news is, it seems as though any type II adapter should work. I am not in front of the ones I bought now but, when I get a chance I will take a photo of the PCMCIA adapters that do work. -Scott On 2013-03-18, at 7:47 PM, krikor kouchian <krikorola@...> wrote: I finaly could finish the upgrade of my emax to a SE/HD. on the PCD-60b does the card adapter sit farther back, or does it stick out just as much as the 50b? It just sticks out 1/4 of an inch, a lot better than the 50b http://www.krikor.fr +33632199413 Booking dj & live: cedric@...
