"Akai" can mean S-1000. "Akai" can mean S-3000. "Akai" can mean S-5000. 
"Akai" can mean Ford. "Akai" can mean Chevrolet. (But it doesn't mean 
Chrysler.)

Since you "downloaded" them, and since you've actually heard them, I 
suspect you have Akai S-5000 Program(s) and sample(s). That means .akp 
file(s) and .wav file(s).

The EXS-24 imports Akai S-1000 and S-3000 CD's, but not the S-5000 format. 
Those are proprietary formats and there isn't really any downloadable 
format for them, nor would you be able to listen/audition them (although 
there are esoteric ways of doing it).

You'll have to shell out $$$ for one of those cheesy third-party conversion 
programs you keep hearing about.
