Well, it can't be any slower (or laborious) than closing a window
completely, and then opening up another one. Like, if you're going from one
EXS instrument to another EXS instrument, only the patch values need to be
changed. If you go from EXS to EVB3, then of course there would be more
redrawing required -- no more than what we experience today, I'd say.

But, the "slapped-on" nature of plug-in UIs is not exclusive to Emagic. They
were like this since Day One for everybody. Maybe with OS X.4 (aka 'Tiger")
coming, what with its killer system-level enhancements called Core Video and
Core Graghics, MAYBE it is time for Emagic to bite the bullet and recode
Logic in Cocoa. Won't the app run better and have the potential of better
design (both functional and esthetical) if they FINALLY buried all that
converted M<ac OS Classic code? Maybe Logic would then take better advantage
of dual processors -- or those rumored "dual core" G5 processors?

Who knows? With all of this coming on the horizon, maybe Logic Pro 7 is
being completely revised in Cocoa for Tiger?? Tiger will be 64 bit, and as
Apple owns Emagic, they better come out with a 64 bit version of Logic
either simultaneously or DAMNED SOON after Tiger hits the streets. Has there
been any rumor as to Logic's future anyway??
