The Emperor is really in-your-face; sort of a zingy and bright sound with a bass that's got a nice thickness & edge to it. The PMI 290 is still my most-used piano sound tho -- it's a little more tame and has different variations on the tone & different presets you can use - dark piano, bright piano, etc. Emperor would be great for straight classical recordings in a hall setting, and while the PMI 290 would be equally as good, it's a little more versatile if you wanted to use it for film-ish sounds, pop, or if you wanted a nice solo piano in that George Winston sort of way. If you're doing a big orchestral mix, the Emperor would be the one to use - it definitely sticks out more. Kerry [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
