EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I apologize for posting this question here, but the size and character of the
LUG is somewhat daunting, and this is such a hassle-free group.

Anyway, I was auditioning some piano samples in the EXS and started playing
something interesting (or so I thought), and I remembered hearing about a
command in Logic to capture the last x amount of MIDI events played.  I looked
through the online help, but didn't find it.  Needless to say, I lost what I
had been playing.

Could someone tell me what that command is, or even what it is called?  I'm
using Logic Pro 6.4.1 on OS9.
