OT(kind of): What's that command?

OT(kind of): What's that command?

2005-10-11 by Lenny Stearns

I apologize for posting this question here, but the size and character of the
LUG is somewhat daunting, and this is such a hassle-free group.

Anyway, I was auditioning some piano samples in the EXS and started playing
something interesting (or so I thought), and I remembered hearing about a
command in Logic to capture the last x amount of MIDI events played. I looked
through the online help, but didn't find it. Needless to say, I lost what I
had been playing.

Could someone tell me what that command is, or even what it is called? I'm
using Logic Pro 6.4.1 on OS9.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Lenny

Hello Lenny:

You are looking for "capture last take". In OS9, I believe it is the
following two keys pressed at the same time: "control" and "*". That
should do it. If not try: "apple" and "*" (this is the Logic 7.1
version of capture last take).

I use this all the time...I almost never record midi (or audio
instruments) anymore...I just loop Logic and play. When I play
something I like I simply capture last take. It's a great tool.

Best of luck,
Dave

Thanks, Dave! That's exactly what I was looking for.

I finally had a chance to try it, and on 6.4.1 (OS9) the command is cntl
plus "*". Also, finding out what it was called helped me to find it in
the key commands window.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Lenny
