No, Emagic chose to make the EXS sample-finding scheme extremely annoyingly simple. Actually, it sort of forces you to be disciplined, since having multiple copies of the same sound isn't that good. You could use the Project Manager (free) to bail you out here, but it's slow and may not enable you to do the things you want.
