At least German law allows you to legally do a backup copy (even on copy protected software). You are still only allowed to use one installed version at a time, though, but that seems to be the case with you. I HAD to do a backup copy of my ESB-CD to even use it (hint: Clone-CD), because the CD protection of the original CD doesn\ufffdt work with my Plextor CD hardware, the copy works, though... I told emagic, but they haven\ufffdt responded yet. I don\ufffdt feel illegal at all...
