It doesn't sound the same. BTW. there has been quite some people talking about the difference in quality of encoding. Spark has been mentioned favorably. I am not sure I absolutely trust your knowledge about "the best" encoder. Have you seen http://mp3licensing.com/mp3/mp3pro.html I know you can't play it back on itunes or a regular mp3 player, but it's definitely "better";-) And the fact that a company has a Fraunhofer license doesn't mean it has to be _the_ Fraunhofer codec. That has to do with patent.(For all I know itunes does, but not necessarily) Cheers!
