What's this all about? I've never viewed mp3s with such scrutiny. I've always thought of them as far better than tape, but not nearly as good as a CD. I take them with a grain of salt. They sound great on the iPod in headphones, but I don't use that for my main stereo speakers in the living room, so... Just curious what your application is and what merits such hair-splitting analysis. Thanks in advance for humoring me. -Jer I've always been comfortable with SoundJam's results. I generally do 192 to conserve space, since I try to balance quality vs. space on the portable device (actually, it was my Christmas gift to my wife and no I don't use the gift I gave her. I simply burned many of the mp3s that were initially placed on the iPod). > From: Anders Elverhøy <anders@...> > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Thu, 21 Feb 2002 20:58:06 +0100 > To: <exs-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [exs] Re mp3/itunes > > >> >> The itunes encoding algorithm is the best one available, licensed from >> the Fraunhofer institute...
