.bin is often used for binaries.

I used CK Rename -- a handy little batch renaming utility you can get from
the link below -- to change the suffix of all these files to .wav and the
instrument is working OK here. I suspect this is just a glitch in the
Mac/Stuffit to PC/PKZIP translation.
