This seems to be a very long time to me. On Windows the EXS caches the last sample location, so, if you have your samples say under "Samples\EXS\Patches" and there's several "Samples\EXS\Patches\XYZ" directories, it will only use the parent directory to start the search as long as it doesn't have to jump to a completely different location on your harddisc. And believe me, things don't go ANY better with other softsamplers as none of them has any automatic search function at all. Manually moving samples allways results in additional re-allocating, be it through automatic search schemes (EXS) or by manually entering some search path (HALion, Kontakt). Maybe not that you are through with half of your patches you could just continue working as usual, some EXS patches will still need a while to load while others will be there fast. Regards, Sascha
